Ah....the renewal of Spring! New life is blossoming everywhere, from wild daisies to baby chicks. What is blossoming in YOUR life? Is there something new you want to do?
Our Natural Health Workshop teleconference call for April will be about pet health with Margarat Nee, pet acupressurist and trainer. She often hears, “My dog and cat are better behaved...thanks to your advice.” Want to hear about how YOUR pet can be healthier and happier? Get on our live call Saturday 4/14 or hear the recorded call by following the website instructions.
I will be in San Miguel de Allende on a working vacation, but you can reach my son at my place. Cindy Bertrand, NHW Board Member and veteran call facilitator will interview Margaret, while I’m in Mexico. Thanks, Cindy, for offering to make my life easier!
You know, pets need probiotics as much as we do. In fact, one of the most common pet problems is an allergy in the pet. Usually, this can be overcome by giving the pet a good probiotic and switching the food to raw....just the same way a human can get over allergies.
Just take Margarat’s advice for pets and humans.....as they often are the same. Both people and pets thrive on a mostly raw food diet!
Happy Ides of March, everyone! Today is a great day for contemplating the ‘dictators’ in your life and for completing tasks. (You do know that Mercury is Retrograde, don’t you?)
This month’s Natural Health Workshop call on cold lasers was great! Hope you were on the call or have listened to the recording. We’re in the process of making the recorded calls easier to access.
The cold laser is a wonderful tool to have in your medicine cabinet, since it appears to help everything from allergies to pain. Do contact Thomas for more information.
Be sure and let anyone who has pets, that Margarat Nee will discuss pet natural health on our April 14th call.
As we write this blog, it’s Valentine’s Day. Do you know where YOUR love is? Do you love yourself as much as you love others? That’s sometimes hard, isn’t it, for us givers?
We hope your own love shines on both yourself AND others. One way you can love others is to make sure you give them what they want. And, one thing Conscious Consumers seem to want is more information about natural health, home remedies, and self-care.
Now, a Business With Heart can give clients the natural health information they crave with the Natural Health Workshop’s Done-For-You newsletters, websites and teleconferences.
We provide a service to biz owners, who find it difficult to provide natural health education to clients. For example, Lynn, a homoeopathist, is busy healing and has no time or expertise in writing newsletters, websites or producing teleconferences. Now, she can offer clients more natural health education than she has time to give. She can even do that while she sleeps...with people being able to read the newsletter and website 24/7.
Let others know that the website and teleconferences are free and non-selling. Let your professional friends and business owners know that they can get a Business Membership in the Natural Health Workshop with lots of benefits for a low price. (It’s tax-deductible, by the way!)
Be sure and check out all this on our website: NHW.org. See if you resonate with what we’re doing. Then.....join us, so we can educate more people about natural health.
We’re excited about the Natural Health Workshop’s growing popularity. We especially like that more Conscious Entrepreneurs are using the calls and website to promote, educate and inform others about health.
Watch this space and tune into our February 11th call for some great news AND a great freebie.
How are YOU handling those New Year’s Resolution? Don’t make ‘em? Make them and keep them fresh for a few months? Confused as to why they ‘go in one year and out the other?’
You’ll want to hear Cindy Bertrand, New Decision Therapist, on the 1/14/12 teleconference! Maybe it’s old emotions that hold you back. Maybe just making a new decision can help. Can it be that easy?
Tune in and learn! Listen in your sweats or hear the recorded calls. Just go to our ‘Teleconferences’ tab to choose.
Let us wish each other a happy, healthy and peace-filled Holiday Season. No matter what you celebrate this time of year, we hope you are more aware of everything....from what you eat to what you purchase.
If you heard Russell Mariani, author of Digestive Wellness, on our last teleconference, you know that ‘moderation and hydration’ are key words for all types of health! Whether you are a vegetarian, raw foodist, or traditional eater....you need to stay aware of what and HOW you eat.
Being aware of your hydration and mindful about what you eat are two important factors in avoiding colds and flu. This can be a stressful and emotional time for many of us. Remember that you are OK.....no need to fix you....and are perfect as you are. Many people want us to conform to THEIR wants and are blameful when we’re not.
This Holiday Season take care of you. Know that Life celebrates you and wants you to be healthy and happy. We do, too!
Where does the time go? I guess when you’re having Natural Health fun, time flies!
This fall season you can avoid colds and flu. How? By taking the advice of our interviewed experts AND watching what you eat.
This is the time of year when feasts and sugar are part of everyone’s diet. Bless that food, and eat it with joy. That’s my philosophy. By the way, did you ever notice that literally blessing your food, before you eat, seems to make most anything nourishing?
Our Natural Health Workshop teleconference calls have all been about staying healthy and happy this fall and winter. Antioxidants in the form of blueberries or tomatoes are better than the false, temporary energy from sugary foods. Enzymes help digest large meals and keep us youthful. Probiotics build our immune systems and help our digestive tract.
If you haven’t read our guest articles or heard the call interviews...I encourage you to do so now. Good health makes the season bright.
Thanks to Barbara Swanson for another amazing Natural Health Workshop call on 9/10! If we weren’t sure that lunchtime is important, we do now.
If you were on the live call....or heard the recorded call....you know a lot more about minerals and nutrition. I think one of the most important things Barbara said was that we need over 40 minerals a day to make vitamins work, and that a mineral is a ‘vitamin’s vitamin.’
Another thing, that caught my ear, was that the body does not absorb inorganic minerals, so we might as well be eating rocks!
You can read more about her tips for packed lunches on our website, under ‘Articles.’ She stressed that....no matter what we pack....organic is the best.
Barbara also went into detail about what helped her survive her car accidents, whereas she could have been unable to move. She speaks with authority!
Don’t forget that Barbara’s daughter, Liselle Swanson-Vetsch will be our guest speaker on 10/8/11. She will talk about non-sugary Halloween treats and how antioxidants can help us re-energize the body. What? It ISN’T sugar?
And....I’ll try not to say ‘Wow!’ so much. Let us know your feedback. ###
Wow! More and more people are tuning into our Natural Health Workshop calls OR listening to our recordings! Julie Igel, a homeopath student herself, said she really liked the call on Homeopathy & Travel.
Homeopathist, Lynn Georgens, was our guest on 8/13 and she made some great points about Summer Soothers and Travel. You can learn more remedies in her article on another page on THIS website. From my call notes....here are Lynn’s 8 best travel and homeopathy tips:
1. Keep your body alkaline, not acidic. Introduce a variety of fresh, dark leafy greens, and other fresh green vegetables, daily, more pure water, fresh fruits, leaner meats, and reduce or eliminate processed or refined foods, fatty meats, and sugary foods. Avoiding alcohol, sweets and caffeine can help balance the body’s pH as well.
2. To help ward off insects there are natural repellants such as neem and citronella, avoid synthetic chemicals. Apis Mellifera is a homeopathic remedy made from the honeybee. The “remedy picture” is swelling, redness, burning and stinging.
3. To relieve digestive upsets: Many homeopathic remedies work. See Lynn’s full article for suggestions.
4. What one remedy to have in your first aid or travel kit? Arnica Montana. That remedy has been used for years to provide relief from bruising and muscle pains.
5. Take a probiotics supplement daily. Just eating yogurt may not be enough to make a difference. Plus, Eat a diet rich in dark, leafy green vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans, raw nuts, and seeds—these are high in fiber and feed the good bacteria.
Do join us for our next call on Saturday, 9/10, when Barbara Swanson of Practical Nutrition Solutions will discuss how to re-mineralize our bodies and give ideas for packing school (and work) lunches.

Be sure and tune into our August 13, 2011 call on travel, summer soothers and probiotics with Classical Homeopathist, Lynn Georgens.
Our July call about Animal Health, in which Allyson Gernandt discussed nutrition and care of dogs, cats and horses....including the value of supplementing their diets with enzymes and probiotics.....was well received!
Allyson said holistic health has many aspects. Nutrition and supplements is one. For example, if the pet drinks chlorinated water from a toxic bowl and breathes “air freshener oils,” and is stressed out about being left alone every day….it may not have the resistance it needs. Like people, animals each have their own tolerance levels for “insults” to their systems.
She also stressed that cooked food does not properly digest in the gut without enzymes. The result can be a host of symptoms…bad haircoat, gas, poor energy, poor attitude, bad breath, constipation, etc. In talking about standard pet food, she said that some of us have become media-trained to believe that commercial pet food provides 100% pet nutrition. Enzymes and probiotics can help make up for poor diets.
We’ve started to get more interest in our Underwriterships and estimate that almost 400 people have heard our NHW calls! Let us know how YOU feel or what you want to hear...and tell a friend! ##
Well....we had our first call! Aside from forgetting (from my radio days) how much the phone dampens-down voices, it was great. Next time, I will speak more lively and faster.
The interview with Katharine Clark was both educational and inspiring. This vivacious, beautiful woman was...at one time...suicidal, constipated and had constant headaches! Now, she is a poster child for natural health.
As a raw foodist for over 30 years, Katharine’s life is a vibrant testament to this life-style. Not only does she exude energy (she’s traveled and circled the planet three times), but she lectures all over the world, counsels thousands about eating raw foods, and is co-founder of a Costa Rica Health Spa, with Viktorus Kulvinskas. Whew!!
Katharine also touched on the upcoming swimsuit season and how to lose weight, using the European Enzyme Therapy of eating enzymes between meals.
As Rita Massey from Vista, CA, said about this call, “Great info and an easy nut cream recipe I can't wait to try!” What will YOU say about the calls?
Many of us are looking forward to the next call on July 9th about Animal Health, in which Allyson Gernandt will discuss nutrition and care of dogs, cats and horses....including the value of supplementing their diets with enzymes and probiotics.
